Mike Kras of the Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team finished third overall in the European MX2 Standings in 2012. At the final round in Faenza, Italy he finished in second position in the second moto. In the first moto he took a good start but when he was riding in second position he made a crash and dropped back to 25th position. During the race he charged back through the race and still finished the race in tenth position. Micha Boy de Waal crashed in the first lap of the first moto and lost a lot of time. With consistent lap times he worked his way back up to 24th position but didn’t scored points. In the second he finished the race in thirteenth despite a crash in the beginning of the race.

On Saturday there were a lot of deep ruts on the track due to the rain at the days prior to the race. Mike found his rhythm straight away and set the third fastest time in time practice. Micha Boy was building up his speed during the session and set his fastest lap time in lap 12. With this time he ended the session in eighteenth position.

The first moto started with some bad luck for the team. Mike took a really good start and was riding in second position when he made a crash in the first lap. He dropped back to 25th position and had to charge back through the field. Mike gave everything he had and worked his way back up to tenth position. Micha Boy made a crash as well during the first lap and lost a lot of time. He restarted the race some twenty seconds behind the group of riders. Micha Boy was riding a consistent pace and managed to pass several riders. Unfortunately he had lost to much time in the beginning of the race that he wasn’t able to score points. He finally finished the race in 24th position.

Both riders were motivated to do well in the second moto. Mike took a really good start again and came out of the first lap in second position. In the beginning of the race he moved up into the lead and was riding in first position for a few laps. On the tricky circuit of Faenza his riding went really well but unfortunately he lost the lead after a few laps. Mike tried to follow the leader and made a gap over himself and the third place rider. After a strong ride he crossed the finish line in second position. Micha Boy took a poor start in the second moto. In the beginning of the race he worked himself back up from 28th position to 20th position. Unfortunately he made a crash and due to this he dropped back to 26th position again. Micha Boy kept fighting and passed one rider after another. With fast lap times he worked his way back up to thirteenth position and scored eight European Championship points.

Mike finished fourth overall in this round while Micha Boy ended the day in seventeenth position. In the final standings of the championship Mike finished in third position while Micha Boy had to be satisfied with seventeenth position. Next weekend the Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team will participate in Beach On Wheels at the beach of Nulde.
