Mike Kras of the Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team has scored a top three moto finish at round five of the UEM MX2 Series in Matterley Basin, Great Britain. In the other moto Kras had a small mechanical problem which forced him to retire from the race. Micha Boy de Waal managed to score eleven European Championship points aboard his well prepared Suzuki RM-Z250.

All classes were riding on the Matterley Basin track and because of this training started already Thursday. Mike and Micha Boy had their first practice session and their first moto already on Friday. Micha Boy found his rhythm straight away on the technical circuit of Matterley Basin and set the eight fastest time. Mike couldn’t set a perfect lap but still managed to end the session in tenth position.

In the first moto it was Mike who took a really good start and came out of the first lap in sixth position. Mike was riding behind the first five riders and managed to held on to this position lap after lap. With still three laps to go he got a small mechanical problem and was forced to retire from the race. Micha Boy started the race in fifteenth position. During the race Micha Boy changed places several times but in the closing stages of the race he moved up to fifteenth position again. Unfortunately he lost this position in the final lap and finally crossed the finish line in sixteenth position.

In the second moto Mike finished in a well deserved third position. Mike started the race around fifth position and worked his way up into third position. He managed to run away from the riders behind and after a consistent race he crossed the finish line in third position. Micha Boy started the race around twentieth position and started a charge back through the field. The differences between the riders were small so it took him some time to overtake riders. Micha Boy was riding in eighteenth position for a long time but in the closing stages of the race he managed to pass three more riders and finished the moto in fifteenth position.

Overall Mike finished in ninth position and Micha Boy ended the day in seventeenth position. After five rounds Mike sits in fourth position in the championship and Micha Boy is in fourteenth position. In two weeks time the series continues at Lierop in the Netherlands.
