Mike Kras of the Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team has scored a top five moto finish at round four of the UEM MX2 Series in Loket in the Czech Republic. After a crash in the first lap of the first moto Mike charged back to sixteenth position. In the second moto he was riding in the leading group and managed to finish the race in fourth position. Micha Boy de Waal scored with a sixteenth position in the second moto five European Championship points.
On the hard and technical circuit of Loket it is always really slippery. Mike felt himself at home on the track and qualified himself in sixth position for the race. Micha Boy took a poor start in the qualifying heat and came out of the first corner in 23rd position. On the fast circuit in Loket it was difficult to overtake but Micha Boy gave everything he had and worked his way back up to seventeenth position. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough to qualify directly for the race so he had to ride the last chance time practice. In this practice he set the third fastest time, which was enough to qualify himself for the race.
The first moto started with some bad luck for the Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team. Mike crashed in the first lap and had to come back through the field. Mike gave everything he had and managed to pass one rider after another. He finally crossed the finish line in sixteenth position and scored five points. Micha Boy was riding inside of the points but crashed in the first lap and dropped back to 38th position. He had lost a lot of time by the crash but tried everything he could to come back as far as possible. During the race he managed to pass several riders but was to far back to come back inside of the points and finished the race in 30th position.
In the second moto Mike took a good start and started the race inside of the top ten. In the beginning he worked himself up to fifth position and was following the leading group. When the leader crashed he moved up a spot and tried to gain time on the leaders. Mike couldn’t pass the third place rider and had to be satisfied with fourth position in the first moto. Micha Boy took a good start as well and came out of the first corner in fourteenth position. He managed to held on to this position for a long time but in the second part of the race he got a lot of pressure from two riders who were riding behind him. Micha Boy gave everything he had but both riders passed him in the closing stages of the race. Micha Boy tried to come back but finally he had to be satisfied with 16th position.
Overall Mike finished in seventh position and Micha Boy ended the day in 20th position. After four rounds Mike sits in third position in the championship and Micha Boy is in thirteenth position after the race in Loket. In two weeks time the series continues at Matterley Basin, Great Britain.
