The Beursfoon Rockstar Suzuki Team has had a consistent first round of the European MX2 Series in St. Jean d’Angely in France. On the technical circuit with a lot of elevation changes it was Mike Kras who finished in eight position and Micha Boy took eleventh position overall.
Mike qualified himself in fifth position on Saturday. Micha Boy took a poor start in his qualifying heat but charged back through the field and worked himself back up from 23rd position to seventh position.
In the first moto Mike took a decent start and came out of the first lap in tenth position. The differences between the riders were really small. Mike changed positions a couple of times in the first moto and finished the race in eleventh position. Micha Boy started the race outside of the top twenty. He found his rhythm straight away and managed to overtake a lot of riders. In the middle of the race he had worked himself up to 14th position but after a strong second part of the race he finished the moto in twelfth position.
Mike took a better start in the second moto but in the first lap he lost two positions and dropped back to twelfth position. Mike charged back during the race and with still three laps to go he had worked himself back up to eight position. Mike kept the pace as high as he could and managed to finish the race in eight position. Micha Boy start the race around fifteenth position. With consistent lap times he passed one rider after another and despite the fact that he twisted his knee during the race he finished the moto in ninth position.
Mike finished eight overall and Micha Boy ended the weekend in a strong eleventh position. On July, 15th the second round of the series will be held in Kegums, Latvia.
